Industry Standard DisplayPort further increases Cliff Electronics FeedThrough Connecter Range

Cliff Electronics announces the addition of a full size Displayport connector to its market leading range of FeedThrough connectors.

The new connector joins the existing Mini DisplayPort version and both may be assembled into an industry standard 24mm diameter XLR connector panel cut-out. The FeedThrough connector series from Cliff offers a wide range of connector types which may be assembled in a panel using the same XLR connector cut-out simplifying system design and assembly.

A key benefit of the Cliff FeedThrough connector range is the use of standard cables for internal connection of electronic systems as well as external connection to signal sources. Cliff can provide suitable DisplayPort cables in lengths of 1m and 2m. The new DisplayPort connector is available with a plastic or metal faceplate, may be front or rear mounted to a panel and offers plain, countersunk or M3 threaded mounting holes.

DisplayPort (DP) and Mini DisplayPort (MiniDP or mDP) connectors are a widely used DisplayPort audio-visual digital interface. DisplayPort can drive display devices with resolutions up to 2560×1600 (WQXGA) in its DisplayPort 1.1a implementation, and 4096×2160 (4K) in its DisplayPort 1.2 implementation. With an adapter, the Mini DisplayPort can drive display devices with VGA, DVI, or HDMI interfaces.

The Product Development Team at Cliff Electronics comments” Our FeedThrough connector range has been highly successful, and it is under constant development. We offer a wide range of connectivity to audio-visual, pro-audio and broadcast OEMs and systems integrators. Our new Displayport connector adds to our very successful range of FeedThrough connectors and comes a step closer to making us a one stop shop for system designers. We can also supply all our FeedThrough connectors pre-assembled into rack panels offering systems integrators fast and convenient system assembly.”

Cliff’s XLR format FeedThrough connectors take advantage of the standard 24mm panel cut out widely used in audio and broadcast systems and which is finding increasing popularity instrumentation, medical and industrial applications due to the format’s flexibility, security and reliability. 19” rack panels pre-assembled with FeedThrough connectors are available to order from Cliff Electronics.

Cliff’s Feedthrough connectors now provide Analogue, Digital and Optical Feed-Through connectivity in formats including Firewire, GJ45, HDMI A-A and 50 ohm BNC versions, USB2 A-to-B and B-to-A “gender change” sockets high speed USB Type – C, USB3 to USB3 in all gender changing configurations – A-A, A-B and B-A. Also available are all popular data and Ethernet connectors including USB 2.0 and 3.0, LC and SC fibre (Duplex & Simplex), UTP and FTP RJ45s in both Cat6 and Cat5e (shielded and unshielded), Toslink, RCA Phono and HDMI and blanking plates.
