Cliff Electronics VHDCI Cable has additional Ferrite core shielding

,

Commonly used Board to Board Very High-Density Cable Interconnect   1 and 2 Metre leads.

Cliff Electronics leaders in the design, development and manufacture of connectors and test equipment, offer industry standard VHDCI (very-high-density-cable-interconnect) cables terminated with a 68-pin male at each end and in two standard lengths.

These connecting cables are commonly used for connecting SCSI (Scuzzy) “Small Computer System Interface” peripherals within computer systems.

The relevant VHDCI specification calls for a 68-pin male-to-male SCSI cable and the connectors are small enough that four can fit on a single PCI card plate. Other key specifications include.

Operating current 0.5A maximum per contact.

Operating voltage maximum 30V AC (RMS)/DC.

Enhanced EMC Shield.

EMI protection, ferrite core: Ø17.5mm x 28.5mm x Ø12mm.

Available in standard lengths of 1M and 2m.

John Hall, Managing Director of Cliff Electronics, says” These cables continue to be much used in connecting peripherals, our VHDCI cable is a widely used interconnect for both legacy and new equipment requiring parallel data transmission.”

Cliff Electronics can supply jack sockets, DC power connectors, terminal binding posts, test connectors and leads, optical jacks and leads and waterproof connectors.

ITSA were once again judges at the annual EIA awards held on the 27th October.

,

ITSA were once again delighted to be invited to act as judges for the prestigious EIA awards which is an annual event run by CIE.

The event was attended by John Biggs, Chairman and Peter Hannon, Vice Chairman, and it was really good to see the continued level of innovation and development that is taking place within the Electronics industry.

Several ITSA members were up for awards.

We were hosted at the event by Catherine Hackett, editor of CIE (Components in Electronics) and enjoyed the company of fellow judge, Aneela Rose of Rose Media Group and also Stella Josifovska editor at Datateam Business Media.

This is the third year that ITSA have been invited to act as judges and we look forward in anticipation to 2023.

Han-Modular® Domino modules from HARTING win industry award

,

The new Han-Modular® Domino modules have received industry recognition, winning the award for ‘Cables and Connectors Product of the Year’ at the inaugural Instrumentation Excellence Awards, held at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on Thursday 27th October 2022.

The Instrumentation Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate individuals, products and companies from the test, measurement, sensing and control sectors, so this award is a prestigious accolade for HARTING.

Domino modules represent the next stage of modular connectivity, offering significant improvements for flexible manufacturing, including up to 50% space savings compared to existing designs. Power, signal, data, or compressed air contacts can now be combined in one module and users can also fit more modules into one connector.

With the addition of the new Domino range, there are now over 250 modules to choose from and many thousands of potential combinations available.

Commenting on the award, Simon Asbury, Managing Director at HARTING UK, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have received the Cable and Connectors Product of the Year award for our Han-Modular Domino range. This product is the next generation in modular solutions and compliments our already well-established industry leading modular connectors. Han Modular Domino allows customers to save even more space and weight when configuring their connector and this in turn can reduce costs.”
