Neutrik issues NA2-IO-DPRO Controller V2.0

Ryde, Isle of Wight, 29 June 2021. Neutrik has issued an update of its FOC Controller app for its compact, ultra-robust NA2-IO-DPRO I/O Dante® interface device, that enables connectivity of legacy analogue and non networked digital audio equipment within Dante audio networks, in the most demanding application environments.

The DPRO Controller gives users remote control of device functions such as level, mute, gain, phantom power, input signal (including patching input signals to either output) and low-cut filter; as well as monitoring the status of the device and providing the ability to change the its network settings. DPRO also enables save, recall and loading of user presets. V2.0 introduces a completely new device discovery mechanism that dramatically improves the response speed of the software and enhances the user experience by separating ONLINE and OFFLINE devices. For optimal performance DPRO Controller V2.0 should be used in combination with the latest (v9.14) firmware and the website download bundles the updated controller and firmware.

 

Cliff introduces FeedThrough MTP® Fibre-Optic Connector

Cliff Electronics leaders in the design, development and manufacture of connectors and test equipment, have introduced a new addition to their market leading FeedThrough connector range. The MTP®/MTO (multi-fibre push on) FT connector allows fast and reliable through-panel connection of standard 12-72 multimode optical fibre cables.

Demand for MTP®/MTO connectivity is being driven by the development of 40G and 100G transceivers with MPO ports commonly used for data transmission over short distances to connect ports in switches in data centres, and to connect multimode transceivers added to existing networks to other 10G host equipment such as routers, switchers, servers and storage.

To ensure reliable connectivity the connector body is made from black nickel-plated die-cast metal and the insert made from ABS/PC rated to UL94-VO, and features a restraining clamp for secure cable connection. For system security a dust cover is available for when the connector is not in use.

The standard range of FeedThrough connectors from Cliff mount into an industry standard XLR, 23mm, cutout allowing 16 connectors, from a wide range of variants, to be conveniently mounted on 19” rack panels which Cliff can supply pre-assembled. Applications include audio, broadcast, AV and communications installations, medical, education and research and industrial control.

The recently introduced space saving DualSLIM FeedThrough connector series is just 19mm wide allowing 20 connectors to be assembled on a 19” rack panel. In addition to the applications above the DualSLIM is commonly used for NUC computers and mini-PCs, such as Raspberry Pi.

SpaceNXT™ K2TVA Thermopad® provides unparalleled gain compensation in K-Band

Smiths Interconnect, a leading provider of technically differentiated connectors, cable assemblies, fibre optics and radio frequency components for demanding applications, announced the release of its SpaceNXT™ K2TVA Thermopad® Temperature Variable Attenuator for gain compensation over temperature.

Specifically designed and tested for critical space flight applications, the new SpaceNXT™ K2TVA Series offers a highly reliable, totally passive solution to offset signal strength fluctuation due to changes in temperature – an issue that affects all RF and microwave systems. The attenuation shift over temperature is achieved using thick-film thermistor inks which are screen printed onto a ceramic substrate of Alumina. This key patented technology was invented in-house within EMC Technology, one of Smiths Interconnects’ technology brands.

SpaceNXT™ K2TVA Thermopad® offers the following benefits:

  • Each product is engineered using 3D Electromagnetic Simulation (EM) software to provide excellent TCA targeting. This aids in obtaining the best attenuation flatness and Voltage Standing-Wave Ratio (VSWR) within the specified frequency band.
  • The Thermopad® can be used in place of a standard chip attenuator to combine level setting or buffering and temperature compensation in a single-chip design. This reduces the component count whilst increasing reliability and lowering costs.
  • Using robust proven thick-film process technology on an Alumina substrate provides a product suitable for applications in harsh environment.
  • The Temperature Coefficient of Attenuation (TCA) is up to four times over the original KTVA Series, allowing RF designers even more precise temperature compensation.

Cliff Electronics leaders in the design, development and manufacture of connectors and test equipment, have introduced a versatile USB-C male – female connecting cable which supports Power Delivery (PD) charging at 60 watts (20v/@3A), USB 3.1 (Gen 1) 5Gb/s data transfer speeds, and can be used as a video cable for 5k@60Hz video output (Thunderbolt 3) and for audio transmission.

When used in a system equipped with Cliff FeedThrough connectors, both the XLR and SLIM versions, the cable can be used to connect to a monitor in the same way as existing HDMI and VGA FeedThrough connector versions. Cable lengths available include 0.3, 0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.5 and 2m
